More Sweet Violas

It’s Melbourne Cup Day 2015. A public holiday for those of us lucky to live in beautiful Melbourne. While thousands flock to Flemington Racecourse to back a “winner” and drink champagne the rest of us are enjoying a day off doing the things we love to do.

Today is about cups of tea, cross stitch and sweet violas. You can never have too many sweet yellow, white and purple violas in your life.

Violas are like a smaller version of pansies. They grow in Spring and Autumn. They like lots of water and moist soil. Make sure to give them enough sunshine every day but put them in the shade during those hot Melbourne summer days. To keep them flowering remove the dead heads every few days.

The cross stitch violas and pansies are stitched on 32 count white Linen.  Once finished this project will be a lovely pillow case on our bed.  Sometimes I struggle to finish all the projects I start. There are so many beautiful things to stitch, photos to take and sewing to do.

Wishing you a happy Tuesday and a wonderful Melbourne Cup 2015.
