Dawn and Gratefulness

It’s just before dawn on a crisp, clear Friday morning in suburban Melbourne, Australia. While the northern hemisphere is just about to embrace summer we are enjoying the last few days of Autumn.

I woke up early this morning. It was cold and dark. I wandered around the house just before dawn with my beloved camera. It was a quiet time to take photos. A time when the moon and sun appeared together for a moment in time.

As I wandered around I reflected on how much beauty was around. It amazes me that there is so much abundance and riches everywhere. The dew on a leaf, the roses that are still growing in the coldness of Autumn, the cat sitting quietly and the last leaves of Autumn clinging to the trees.

While we strive to attain great material riches I wonder sometimes whether the riches that are given to us as gifts every day in nature are truly appreciated.

Today’s thought is to be truly grateful for all the abundance that is already around you. As you head into your busy day, your job, your kids, your life, try to stop today and look around you. Let’s be grateful for all we already have. It will make you feel so good.

Wishing you a wonderful and happy Friday.
