DIY – Christmas cross stitch

Christmas is three short weeks away! There is still time to buy presents and make a few last minute DYI gifts. I’m stitching a few Christmas cocktail napkins. The first one features the word “Noel” decorated with holly.

I’ve been creative with the placement of the word and it is being stitched upwards rather than downwards. It’s probably not the way most people would stitch it but I ran out of room because I started stitching the word too close to the edge. It’s a good reminder to make sure you have enough room to stitch your design once you start stitching.

I have designed the cross stitch chart with the words running straight along the page. You can choose to stitch the word and holly in any way you like. This cross stitch is super easy and quick to stitch using DMC floss in three colors. I’ve used 28 count linen but you can use any cross stitch fabric you like.

Stitched on 28 count Linen using DMC Colors: Dark Green 987, Light Green 703, Red 349. Finished size is 2.2 x 1.2 inches.

Wishing you a fabulous week ahead as we race to the countdown to Christmas.
