Sweet pink rose growing in the garden. So sweet and fragile it blooms but for a moment. In that moment it is so beautiful that I had to share it with you too.
In Part 1 of how to use waste canvas to cross stitch I showed you the first steps in using waste canvas to cross stitch on plain fabric. Today I will show you what to do once the stitching is complete.
To recap the steps again;
Place the waste canvas over the area you want to cross stitch your design. You should ensure you secure the waste canvas in place by stitching around the edge of the canvas and then across diagonally;
Start stitching your design by stitching through the waste canvas and material;
Once you have completed your design cut away some of the waste canvas leaving a small section of canvas around your cross stitch. This will make it easier to remove the waste canvas.
Next take a pair of tweezers and carefully pull the waste canvas threads out one by one taking care not to pull the stitches too much. Please take your time with this step as it needs to be done carefully.
Once all the waste canvas has been removed iron your fabric and line it or place in a frame and enjoy !
Wishing you a lovely Thursday :)
