Update on cross stitch “Ham Bag”

agapanthus copy

How gorgeous are these white miniature Agapanthus from the garden? Hope you love them too.

Thought I would update you on how things are progressing with the cross stitch “Ham Bag” I designed in December last year using waste canvas.

The letters are now stitched however when I looked at the design it seemed to lack texture and colour. The letters on their own looked a bit boring from my point of view. After playing around with a few patterns I decided to keep things simple by stitching a pale yellow 4 point star surrounded by pale green. I am using DMC cotton floss (pale green 955) and (pale yellow 3078). It’s an experiment and I am not sure how it will look when finished. The addition of yellow and green seems to be bringing the letters to life a little. It will take me the rest of January to finish this project off as I have go back to work tomorrow morning.

While I managed to stitch a little during the holidays there were so many other things to do.  I will keep stitching away until it is finished.  It needs to be done in time for next Christmas!
