Whatever challenges and situations you face I hope you stay as bright and cheerful as these gorgeous flowers that are scattered around my house this week.
I also wanted to share a non stitching story with you.
Last year I attended a charity event in my local area to raise money for victims of Melanoma. Australia has one of the highest incidences of skin cancers in the world due to our love of the outdoors and the beach in particular. An motivational speaker called Robyn Moore spoke to the audience about attitude, passion, productivity, energy and life. She was amazing. After her presentation she handed out a page of messages to take away with us. One year later I still have the messages pinned on my board and I thought I would share one of my favourite messages with you today;
“You are now looking at the only person responsible for your Happiness!”
This is my favourite saying because it forces me to take responsibility for everything in my life both the fabulous and the not so great. This can be difficult as I am sometimes forced to “look in the mirror” and face the things that make me unhappy.
Sometimes we like to blame our unhappiness on others. It’s just easier that way. By knowing our happiness is our responsibility it means we have to make changes and take charge of where we are and what we want our life to look like. That can be very challenging but also very rewarding and liberating.
Do you believe you are responsible for your Happiness today ?
